Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust launches new Peek-powered school eye health programme in India

Peek Vision has partnered with Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust to launch a new school eye health programme in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, delivered through its flagship hospital, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya (SNC).

As part of this initiative, SNC will integrate Peek’s smartphone-based technology to conduct vision screening and ensure that children receive the right level of care – ranging from a simple pair of spectacles to advanced treatment when required. The programme will also generate real-time data to help refine delivery and maximize impact.

For decades, Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust has been a pioneer in rural health and eye care in central India, with Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya playing a central role in expanding access to quality, equitable, and compassionate services for underserved populations. This new collaboration with Peek builds on that legacy, extending the Trust’s mission into schools to protect children’s sight and support their educational success.

Peek Vision has been active in India since 2017, with one of the first major trials of its software completed in schools in Hyderabad. Building on partnerships with other leading institutions, Peek is now expanding its collaborations to reach more children across the country.

Dr. Priya Morjaria, Head of Global Programme Development at Peek Vision, said: “We are delighted to begin this partnership with Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust and its premier hospital, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya. India is home to some of the world’s most innovative eye health organizations. Together with SNC we can reach more children with life-changing, data-driven eye care. SNC’s dedication to ensuring every child can see clearly is deeply inspiring.”

The new initiative was inaugurated at Government Queens Inter College, Lahurabir, Varanasi on 16 September 2025.

Dr. Elesh Jain, CEO & Trustee of Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, added: “At Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, our mission has always been to ensure that no one is left behind due to preventable blindness. With today’s launch of the school eye health programme in Varanasi, powered by Peek’s innovative tools, we aim to protect children’s vision and eye health and enable them to reach their fullest potential. This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to building a healthier, brighter future for the next generation.”
