Peek Vision’s Farhana Rehman-Furs elected to IAPB Board

Farhana Rehman-Furs, Peek Vision’s Head of Global Partnerships, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB)

IAPB is the global eye health sector’s overarching alliance, with membership drawn from the world’s major eye health organisations in over 100 countries.  Its Board of Trustees is composed of leaders from various sectors of eye care, who shape the organisation’s strategic direction and support its mission through governance and advocacy.

In her role as a Board member, Farhana will play a vital role in upholding IAPB’s vision, mission and values, using her expertise in partnerships, global health and technology to feed into the Board’s work.

Farhana has extensive experience in eye health and the wider humanitarian sector, with over 20 years of experience working in global charities.  She joined Peek in 2018 and is a member of the health tech social enterprise’s Leadership team, with overall responsibility for developing and delivering Peek’s partnerships and programmes strategy.

“I’m honoured to be elected to the IAPB Board of Trustees,” says Farhana. “It’s a really exciting opportunity to collaborate with such a dedicated group of leaders in eye health, and I look forward to driving forward IAPB’s vital work to make eye care accessible for all.  With the number of people with vision impairment rising every year, it has never been more important for the sector to work as one and I’m delighted to be part of IAPB’s work to achieve that.”
