A medical doctor and ophthalmic researcher, Marzieh holds a masters degree in Public Health for Eye Care from LSHTM, as well as a PhD in designing and evaluating mHealth screening programmes from the Centre for Global Health at Aarhus University. As the contact person for the WHO collaborating centre for eye health and prevention of blindness in Iran as of 2011, Marzieh has participated in national and regional programmes to improve eye health.
