In 2025, Peek Vision launched a landmark partnership with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, aiming to strengthen eye health services across Africa’s most populous country.  Peek’s software and data insights are being used by NGOs to expand screening, improve referral pathways, and strengthen primary healthcare capacity across Nigeria.

Our partners include:

  • Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Nigeria
  • Sightsavers
  • CBM Christian Blind Mission
  • VisionSpring
  • Al Basar International Foundation

Together, we are making eye health services more efficient and equitable through large-scale screening and data-driven optimisation.

Major initiatives using Peek in Nigeria include Sightsavers’ Focus on Clear Vision project, and CBM’s ten-year SightQuest programme.

Better data for better school eye health

A School Eye Health Rapid Assessment (SEHRA) was conducted in Nigeria in October 2025, led by Sightsavers. The results are providing valuable insights to guide school eye health programme planning.

Screening at scale

More than 960,000 children and adults have now been screened using Peek in Sightsavers’ school eye health programmes across three states in Nigeria.

Pioneering new training models

2,600 Peek users in Nigeria have now been trained through Peek’s training-of-trainer model, building local capacity and ownership.

Our partnership with Peek Vision will significantly increase Nigeria’s capacity to identify people with vision challenges and connect them with appropriate care. Working with our partners, Peek will particularly help us reach rural and hard-to-reach communities where many people live with avoidable vision loss.”

We are excited to work with Peek to use technology to reach the most vulnerable population groups, improve access, ensure the continuum of care and leave no one behind.”

Focus on Clear Vision

Peek is working with Sightsavers to expand access to eye care in Kenya and Nigeria through their Focus on Clear Vision programme. The project launched in 2025 as part of a major Bloomberg Philanthropies’ initiative to boost eye health services and help address the global vision crisis.
